Discover the history of the world’s third busiest canal. Replica Bethel Bridge Lighthouse is also on site. Both the museum and lighthouse are open to the public year-round: Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm (year round), Open Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am – 4:00 pm (Memorial Day through Labor Day).
This extraordinary gem of a museum traces the history of the world’s third busiest shipping canal. Owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this waterfront historic site is located inside the original 18th century pump house that once controlled the water levels in the locks along the first edition of the canal. Interactive displays, fascinating videos and more enchant visitors of all ages.

Vulcan’s Rest Fibers is a warm and welcoming fiber arts supply shop located in Chesapeake City, Maryland. We aspire to be an on-going homebase for local fiber arts enthusiasts. It is our goal to have people feel welcome if their interest in fiber crafts is at an expert level, as a beginner, or just because they admire beautiful handmade things. We want to inspire and encourage each other to express our creativity, in addition to providing a source of raw materials to do so. Classes and get-togethers are only part of the picture; it's an attitude or feeling of community we strive for.
We carry an amazing array of fiber art supplies to fulfill your every need. Knitting supplies, crochet supplies, weaving supplies, spinning supplies, including spinning wheels for sale, basket weaving materials and needle felting supplies are all available, as well as books and finished goods.
Beautiful, hand-made finished products such as baby items, scarves, hats, shawls and sweaters are available, all made by local fiber artists. Hand made baskets and decorative gourds are sold as well.

Discover the wonderful world of alpacas at Painted Sky Alpaca Farm, a family run business where we breed and raise and sell quality Huacaya Alpacas (pronounced whah-kai-ah).
